Sustainably-Grown Pastured Pork
In addition to the cuts in our CSA and our Locker Pork sales, we offer three varieties of pastured pork sausage you're guaranteed to love! All of our pigs are fed certified organically-grown grain, fresh goat milk, and vegetables. Raised in large, open, wooded pastures and given cool spring water for drinking and bathing, our pigs live in luxury - and that's good news for you. We've found the secret to raising healthy, flavorful, farm-fresh pastured pork. You won't find tastier pastured pork on the market, and you can rest assured you are keeping local, sustainable agriculture thriving in the Rogue Valley. This is what knowing where your food comes from is all about! You can even meet the sows who provide the farm with piglets sought after by gourmet chefs and featured in local high-end restaurants. To order locker pork, fill out the order form below: Locker Pork Orders 2010 Buying a half or whole pig is the most economical way to assure a freezer full of succulent pork for the year; you receive all the cuts available and get to choose how you want it cut, wrapped, and if you want any smoked meats. We will have a great crop of Berkshire/Blue Butt pigs going to market this fall; these pigs have all been bred and born here, are weaned at 6-7 weeks, and are pasture-raised and organically fed until they reach market weight of 200-250 pounds. The price for our locker pork this year is $5.25/# hanging weight. Our customers pay the kill fee, cut-and-wrap, and any smoking desired. For calculation, the kill fee is $50/hog; a 250# live weight hog yields 185-200# hanging weight; cut-and-wrap runs about $.70/#, with smoking another $1.00/#. Deposit for ˝ pig is $75 and for a whole pig is $150; we’ll email you a receipt for your check. We’ll contact you a few weeks before the slaughter date and give you instructions for calling your cutting orders to Jerry’s Custom Meats in Central Point. Jerry’s will call when your pork is ready for your freezer and your table.
